Abstract:
To isomerize the cis-isomer of 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol to the trans- isomer thereof.
An alkali(alkaline earth) metal salt of a carboxylic acid is added to the 1,4-cyclohexanedimethanol at least a part of which is the cis- isomer, and the resultant mixture is subjected to a heat treatment to isomerize the cis-isomer.
