Abstract:
PURPOSE: To join firmly a metal joint and an FRP pipe, by interposing an FRP layer between the FRP pipe and the metal joint that is provided with a stepped section for anchoring the FRP layer.
CONSTITUTION: The bonding FRP layer 4 impregnated with an adhesive is wound round the outer circumference of a cylindrical section 1a of the metal joint 1 that is provided with the stepped section 1b that is formed by diametrically enlarging the outer circumference of the tip of the cylindrical section 1a, then they are inserted into the FRP pipe 2, and the FRP is hardened. As a result, a highly stable joint member is obtained which has an enough joint strength against twisting or longitudinal pulling force against the FRP pipe.
