To provide means which improves adhesion, crack resistance, and moisture resistance of a metal member-resin assembly by enhancing adhesion between a metal member and a resin.
An assembly of a metal member 8 and a resin 4 is provided, in which: an intermediate layer 6 and a silane coupling agent layer 5 formed on the metal member are provided at an interface between the metal member and the resin; the silane coupling agent layer and the resin are in contact with each other; the intermediate layer is any one of an oxide layer of the metal, a chelating agent layer, a composite layer of the oxide layer and the chelating agent layer, and a mixed layer of the oxide and the chelating agent; and the intermediate layer is electrically non-insulative. A method for manufacturing the assembly of the metal member and the resin is also provided.
