Title:
METHOD FOR JOINING RESIN FORMED BODY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JPS645820
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

PURPOSE: To surely and strongly join resin formed bodies by a method wherein each split body, on a part of which uncured semicured part is present, is formed by heating and pressing thermosetting resin and thermosetting resin put between the semicured parts are thermally set integrally with the respective semicured parts by heating and pressing the thermosetting resin and the semicured parts.

CONSTITUTION: Split bodies 11a and 11b, each of which is made of composite material consisting of inorganic fiber such as glass wool or the like and thermosetting resin such as unsaturated polyester or the like, are formed by heating and pressing the inorganic fiber spongy bodies so as to impregnate with the thermosetting resin. Thermosetting resin solution 15L is applied onto the parts, which are joining portions of each of the porous layers 12a and 12b of the split bodies 11a and 11b. The split bodies 11a and 11b, the joining portions of which are brought into contact with each other, are pressed together with a top force 17a and a bottom force 17b. The split bodies 11a and 11b are bonded together by thermosetting resin 15 applied onto the joining portions. In addition, the porous layers 12a and 12b are also cured. After that, by mounting an exhaust pipe and the like to the bodies, an exhaust mutter is completed.
