Title:
METHOD FOR LABELING OR DETECTING SUBSTANCE BY USING LUMINESCENT ARYL SULFONATE CYANINE DYE
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2898264
Kind Code:
B2
Abstract:

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a luminescent light-stable reaction product useful for the investigation of labeling by covalently reacting the group, such as amine or sulfhydryl, of a component to be labeled, comprising, e.g. protein or viruses with a sulfoindolenine-based polymethine dye.
SOLUTION: A luminescent (fluorescent) reaction product concerning the investigation of labeling of proteins, nucleic acids, DNAs, microorganisms, polymers, etc., and obtained through the covalent reaction of a luminescent polymethine cyanine or related polymethine dye with the amine, hydroxyl, etc., of the above-mentioned materials. It is a reaction product of a component having groups such as amine, hydroxyl (and aldehyde or sulfhydryl by using an antibody-antigen reaction) with a (water-soluble) sulfoindolenine-based or naphthosulfoindolenine-based polymethine dye having substituent(s) to be reacted with the groups of the component to form a covalent bond, wherein the molecule of the dye on the reaction product has an average molecular extinction coefficient of at least 50,000l/mol.cm and an average quantum absorption of at least 2% and absorbs and radiates a light with a maximum wavelength of 400-850nm.
