Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for directly leaching zinc concentrate in the method for producing electrolytic zinc by a hydrometallurgy method.
SOLUTION: This method includes a neutral leaching stage, a zinc concentrate leaching stage and an iron oxidizing stage. In the zinc concentrate leaching stage, residues in the neutral leaching and iron precipitates repeatedly produced from the iron oxidizing stage are repulped by returned acid, zinc concentrate is added thereto, and zinc is leached under the atmospheric pressure at a temperature between 90°C and the boiling point. By this method, the concentration of iron (III) ions in the zinc concentrate leaching stage can be made higher than the conventional method, so that the leaching rate of the zinc concentrate can be increased.
