PURPOSE: To density a bulk load and to increased an amount to be loaded, by inserting vibrating plates into the bulk load during or after the loading of a coal slurry.
CONSTITUTION: A coal slurry is introduced into the inner holds of a plurality of holds 11W18 provided within a carrier. When a predetermined amount of coal is loaded, a wire rope 8 is unwound to cause a vibrating means 12 to descend into the holds 13, 16, whereby the lower ends of the vibrating plate 13 are inserted into the bulk load. The vibrating means 12 is operated. After the load 14 is densified by the vibration of the plates 13, the wire rope 8 is wound up to lift the means 12, whereby the vibrating plates 13 are drawn up to a position above a hatch coaming 2. Then a boom 7 is slewed and a truck 6 is moved to insert the vibrating means 12 and the vibrating plates 13 into other holds 11, 12, 14, 15, 17 and 18. Similarly, the vibration and the densifying of the slurry are repeated.
