Abstract:

PURPOSE: To provide a method of machining the movable sheave of a pulley device for a continuously variable transmission that can obtain high machining accuracy without the accumulation of workpiece fitting errors to a chuck.
CONSTITUTION: A method of machining the movable sheave of a pulley device for a continuously variable transmission having the movable sheave slidably supported to the shaft part of a fixed sheave through a ball spline is provided with a machined reference face machining process of machining the machined reference face B while gripping the boss outer diameter part E of the movable sheave 1, and a taper face and spline groove machining process of machining the taper face C and spline groove A of the movable sheave 1 on the basis of the machined reference face B.
