Abstract:

To provide a method for making seedlings of buckwheat to grow and to solve the problem that of seedlings of the buckwheat, before opening the leaves the operation for nipping off a pericarp remaining attached on the leaves is necessary.

A seed of the buckwheat for seeding from which the pericarp is removed while remaining a testa 1b is seeded in soil 4, and germinated while shading the light. The resultant stem part 3b and the root part 3c are grown while shading the light, and the seedling in the etiolated seedling shape before opening the seed leaves 3a is harvested by cutting the root part 3c to provide the etiolated seedling 3 of the buckwheat. It is preferable that the seedling is cultivated in a cultivation chamber regulated so as to be at 23 ±5°C temperature in 80-100% humidity, or in a cultivation container 5 with the spread soil containing regulated water content, and the etiolated seedling 3 of the buckwheat after cutting the root is dipped in a warm water at 40-70°C for 5-10 s, and thereafter dipped in a cold water at 5-20°C to retard the phenomenon of the stem part 3b partially being colored to red.
