To provide a method for making microcapsules including an electrophoretic particle dispersion capable of efficiently making microcapsules with a relatively large and uniform particle size by eliminating a classifying process step in order to enable a high-contrast display with a display device using the microcapsules including the electrophoretic particles and of making the content of the electrophoretic particles uniform and the display device using the same.
The method for making the microcapsules including the electrophoretic particle dispersion comprises using the following agitating elements and a reactor: The ratio (d1/d2) of the element diameter (d1) of the agitating elements and the inner diameter (d2) of the reactor is 0.4 to 0.9; the ratio (d1/h1) of the element diameter (d1) of the agitating elements and the total (h1) of the heights of the agitating elements is 0.3 to 1.5; and the height (h2) of the liquid level of an agitating solution is ≥1.2 times the total (h1) of the heights of the agitating elements.
