PURPOSE: To provide the subject method and device wherein squeezing is carried out at a low set pressure by lifting casting sand within a casting frame on an ascending and descending table, and subsequently squeeze feet are respectively caused to descend at the same pressure to carry out squeezing thereby to make a uniform mold hardness even in a complicated pattern.
CONSTITUTION: When casting sand 25 and a mold 26 are lifted together with an ascending and descending table 24, each of squeeze feet 4 receives a upward pressing operation by casting sand 25. When the oil pressure within each split cylinder 2 reaches a value more than a set pressure, a relief valve 16 is actuated to cause oil to escape into an oil tank 12 thereby to maintain the set pressure. The mold is fabricated in a soft and weak state. When the ascending and descending table ascends up to a defined position, a detector operates and ascending descending table 24 holds its position. Then, a pump 11 is operated and oil is fed to each split cylinder 2, and a squeeze foot 4 is applied with pressure by a uniform force greater than the ascending force. Squeezing due to uniform pressing force is carried out in high and low state along the configuration of a pattern plate 24'.
