To provide a method by which malodor and an allergen adhered to a fiber product can simply be decomposed and removed in the daily laundry, and to provide a washing composition.

This washing method for removing/reducing malodor or allergen is characterized by drying the fiber product through a process for holding the fiber product containing water in an amount of ≥10 wt.% (based on the fiber product) at a surface temperature of ≥60°C for ≥10 min, whereby the evaporation of the malodor component and the thermal modification of the allergen are carried out to remove/reduce the malodor or allergen adhered to the fiber product. The washing composition comprises a surfactant for carrying out the treatment and an enzyme or cationic surfactant.
