Abstract:

To provide a safe and efficient method of manufacturing 1-aryl-5-(trifluoromethyl)-1H-tetrazole and its production intermediate, N-aryl-2,2,2-trifluoroacetoimidoyl chloride.

There are disclosed a method for manufacturing N-aryl-2,2,2-trifluoroacetimidoyl chloride represented by general formula (2) by reacting 2,2,2-trifluoro-N-aryl-acetamide represented by general formula (1) with a tertiary amine and at least one selected from the group consisting of phosphorus oxychloride and diphenyl phosphoric acid chloride in an organic solvent, and a method for manufacturing 1-aryl-5-(trifluoromethyl)-1H-tetrazole represented by general formula (4) by reacting N-aryl-2,2,2-trifluoroacetimidoyl chloride represented by general formula (2) with an azide in the presence of an amine salt in an aromatic hydrocarbon solvent.
