To provide a method for manufacturing a new imidazoline compound acting as an NPY receptor antagonist and useful as a treating agent for various circulatory system diseases, central nervous system diseases, or metabolic system diseases.
The method for manufacturing a compound (11') comprises obtaining a compound (10) by (1) reacting a compound (9) with an organometallic compound having R1p or (2) reacting a compound (9') with an organometallic compound having Ar1p, and subsequently removing the protecting groups for amino groups of P and S(=O)R. In these formulae, Ar1p and Ar3p are each a (substituted) aryl or heteroaryl; P is a protecting group for an amino group; R is a bulky group; R1p is a cyclo lower alkyl, Ar3p, or a formula (ap), (bp) or (cp); and R2p and R3p are each H, a cyclo lower alkyl, a lower alkenyl or a (substituted) lower alkyl.
