PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an aliphatic aldehydic acid acetal and/or an aliphatic dicarboxylic acid in high yield.
SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing an aliphatic aldehydic acid acetal and/or an aliphatic dicarboxylic acid comprises the oxidation of a cyclic ketone and/or its acetal in the presence of a catalyst containing a metallic element of the groups 4 to 11 in the periodic table, oxygen and a polyhydric alcohol.
