Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for effectively manufacturing an aliphatic aldehydic acid and/or an aliphatic dicarboxylic acid from a cyclic ketone and/or its acetal.
SOLUTION: The method for manufacturing an aliphatic aldehydic acid and/or an aliphatic dicarboxylic acid comprises the oxidation of a cyclic ketone and/or the acetal of a cyclic ketone in the presence of a catalyst containing at least one metallic element of the groups 4 to 11 in the periodic table, oxygen and a monohydric alcohol.
