To provide a method for manufacturing an aluminum substrate for a lithographic printing plate which obtains an aluminum support for the lithographic printing plate with high aluminum purity at a high yield even if a used lithographic printing plate is reused, reduces the amount of a by-produced aluminum oxide and significantly cut an amount of generated CO2 which is responsible for global warming as a cause, and a method for recycling the lithographic printing plate with high efficiency showing an advantage of significantly cutting the amount of generated CO2 in a process.
The method for manufacturing an aluminum substrate for the lithographic printing plate includes the following steps. First, a reclaimed material for the aluminum substrate including a used lithographic printing plate with an image recording layer containing a novolak resin with a xylenol group on an aluminum support is prepared. Next, a reclaimed base metal is obtained using the reclaimed material and a new aluminum substrate is manufactured by adding a required amount of the new aluminum base metal to the reclaimed material base metal.
