To provide a method for manufacturing an aluminum substrate for a lithographic printing plate which obtains an aluminum substrate for the lithographic printing plate qualified for satisfying aluminum purity or a qualitative requirement of a trace metal content at a high yield with the reduction of a by-produced aluminum oxide amount, and furthermore, can significantly cut an amount of generated CO2 responsible for global warming as a cause when the used lithographic printing plate is reused.
The method for manufacturing the aluminum substrate for the lithographic printing plate includes the following steps. First, a reclaimed material for the aluminum substrate including a used lithographic printing plate with a support for the lithographic printing plate which is obtained by applying surface roughening treatment and anodizing treatment using an electrolyte containing a phosphoric acid to the aluminum substrate is prepared. Next, a regenerated base metal is manufactured using the regenerated material, and then, a new aluminum substrate is manufactured by adding a required amount of a new aluminum base metal and a trace metallic mother alloy containing Cu to the regenerated material base metal.
