Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an amine oxide having a favorable hue easily in a favorable reaction efficiency.SOLUTION: The provided method for manufacturing an amine oxide includes a step 1 of reacting an amine based on the addition thereof to a hydrogen peroxide solution and a step 2 of reacting the reaction mixture obtained at the step 1 by further adding thereto a separately prepared aqueous hydrogen peroxide solution, whereas the relation of 0.80≤y/x<1.00 is satisfied in a case where the molar number of hydrogen peroxide included within the hydrogen peroxide solution and the molar number of the amine at the step 1 are defined respectively as x mole and y mole.
