To provide a method of manufacturing an automobile wheel suppressing occurrence of a defective molding of a front flange section and achieving high productivity, in the manufacturing method in which the front flange section folded rearwardly is molded on an outer circumferential edge of a wheel disk.
In the manufacturing method, an inclined circumferential end 45 is formed on an outer circumferential end 44 of an outermost circumferential annular section 43 of a disk-shaped preliminary mold body 41; the outermost circumferential annular section 43 bent rearwardly along both sides is subjected to press-holding by an upper pressure contact die 71 and a lower bending die 73 including a curve processing surface part 74 and a fold-back processing surface part 75, thereby molding the front flange section on the outer circumferential edge of the wheel disk. According to the manufacturing method, the outermost circumferential annular section 43 can relatively easily and stably be folded back toward the inside in a radial direction, thereby suppressing the occurrence of the defective molding. Further, a local load exerted on the lower bending die 73 can be mitigated, thereby decreasing costs necessary for the maintenance thereof or the like.
