To manufacture a bamboo material fumigated craftwork object where in bamboo materials in the state of the root, trunk, branch and the like as they stand are efficiently dried and treated with 'fumigation' having a glossy black surface.

A bamboo material for the craftwork object is stored on a drain board 5 constructed inside a fumigation room 4. Heated smoke at a low temperature generated by combustion of wood in a combustion room 2 positioned on a lower stage than the fumigation room 4 wherein a air adjusting hole 9 is provided, is introduced into a funnel-like bottom part 11 through a flue duct 3 and diffused with the drain board 5. The bamboo material inside is dried by fumigation and cured, and tar and wood vinegar acid contained in heating fume at low temperature is permeated into a surface layer of the bamboo material. Further, components such as bamboo vinegar acid and the like contained in the bamboo material are extracted on the surface and surface- treated to glossy block.
