Abstract:

To reduce the variation of an axial space of a bearing device for a wheel.

This method of assembling the bearing device for the wheel comprises the following processes; a process for preparing a hub and an outer ring, a process for press-fitting the outer ring to a fitting hole of the hub so as to obtain a sub assembly I of the hug and the outer ring, a process for obtaining a sub assembly II of an inner ring and a tapered roller bearing and a retainer, a process for calculating the axial space by the sub assembly I and the sub assembly II, a process for obtaining a combination of the sub assembly I and the sub assembly II wherein the axial space is a prescribed range, a process for setting a seal, a process for setting a retaining ring so as to obtain an assembly of the hub and the bearing, and a process for inserting the assembly into an axle and putting a washer and fastening a nut.
