Abstract:
To provide: a method for manufacturing a bent component that has sufficient appearance (bending convex side) quality, and that is formed, on a tabular workpiece, with a flange sharply raised along a bending line that forms a curve in a plan view; and a bent component obtained by this manufacturing method.SOLUTION: There is provided a method for manufacturing a bent component that is formed, on a tabular workpiece, with a flange sharply raised along a bending line that forms a curve in a plan view. The method comprises: partitioning the tabular workpiece into a flange forming portion and a workpiece body portion along the bending line; and performing heat ray scanning along the bending line, while moving a heat ray between the flange forming portion side and the workpiece body portion side, forming a plurality of irradiation lines on a certain area of the flange forming portion and the workpiece body portion. to cause thermal expansion and contraction on the irradiation surface side of the tabular workpiece, thereby, erecting the flange forming portion to form the flange. When forming the flange, the method performs at least one thermal scan per irradiation line to form a molten solidified layer due to thermal expansion and contraction.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
