Abstract:

To prevent the electrical breakdown from being generated by generating a large amount of steam from a raw material and generating dropwise condensation during heating and molding a molded baked cake by electricity-carrying heating or dielectric heating.

In a method for manufacturing a biodegradable molded article, a raw material 9 for molding comprising a starch and having biodegradability is covered by a mold 8 having electrically-conductive mold piece 8a and mold piece 8b and an insulating body 8c between both mold pieces 8a and 8b, and, by applying an alternating current between both mold pieces 8a and 8b from an alternating current power source 2, it is heated by the electricity-carrying heating and/or the dielectric heating and is swollen. The output of the alternating current power source 2 in the second half of heating where residual amount of water content in the raw material 9 for molding is less, is switched so that it becomes lower than the output of the alternating current power source 2 in the first half of heating where the residual amount of water content in the raw material 9 for molding is more.
