To provide a method of efficiently manufacturing a thick calcium silicate material useful as a refractory coating material of various tunnel structures and having excellent fire resistance, heat insulation property, residual shrinkage after heating or the like.
A monolayer formed body having ≤5% residual shrinkage after heating at 1,200°C and ≤0.25 W/m×K heat conductivity is obtained by using a calcareous raw material, a siliceous raw material and a fibrous raw material which have each a specific property and calcium silicate hydrate previously obtained by the hydrothermal synthesis of the calcareous raw material and the siliceous raw material, adjusting the freeness of raw material slurry, dehydrating the slurry and forming the dehydrated product by a flow-on sheet making process and aging and hardening the resulting product.
