To provide a method for manufacturing a capsule toner, by which a capsule toner having a sharp grain size distribution and shape distribution and having a coating layer with uniform film thickness can be continuously obtained with high productivity.

The method for manufacturing the capsule toner includes a base particle supplying step, a resin fine particle supplying step, a mixture liquid preparation step, an aggregation step, a cooling step on a dispersion liquid of aggregated particles, and a pressure reduction step for the dispersion liquid of aggregated particles. In the base particle supplying step, a dispersion liquid of base particles is continuously supplied to a mixing space under pressure. In the resin fine particle supplying step, a dispersion liquid of resin fine particles is continuously supplied to the mixing space under pressure. In mixture liquid preparation step, the base particle dispersion liquid and the resin fine particle dispersion liquid are mixed under pressure to obtain a particle mixture liquid. In the aggregation step, the resin fine particles are aggregated under pressure on the surfaces of the base particles to obtain an aggregate particle dispersion liquid. In the cooling step on the aggregated particle dispersion liquid, the aggregated particle dispersion liquid obtained in the aggregation step is cooled. In the pressure reduction step on the aggregated particle dispersion liquid, the pressure on the aggregated particle dispersion liquid cooled in the cooling step is reduced.
