Abstract:

To provide a cast iron having an erosion resistance to molten aluminum at low cost and a method for manufacturing the same which can repeatedly be used to the molten aluminum alloy.

Molten metal having the average composition composed by mass% of 3.0-3.7% C, 2.0-3.4% Si, 0.5-1.0% Mn, 0.02-0.20% P, ≤0.08% S, 0.3-2.0% Cr, 0.2-0.8% Mo and the balance Fe with inevitable impurities, is cast and the cast iron article is contacted with acidic solution and oxide film on the surface is solved and removed and thereafter, a heat-treatment is applied to form a decarburized layer including fine hole opening on the surface.
