To provide a method for manufacturing a cellulose ester film of a good quality, capable of easily removing a web from a casting supporter by preparing a cellulose ester dope without using a chlorine solvent.
The method for manufacturing the cellulose ester film is for forming a film by using a dope prepared by dissolving a cellulose ester satisfying at the same time a formula (I): 2.6X+Y3.0 and a formula (II): 0X2.5, with the premise that the substitution degree of an acetyl group is X, and the substitution degree of a propionyl group and/or a butyryl group is Y, in at least one kind of a non-chlorine organic solvent selected from the group consisting of a methyl acetate, an ethyl acetate and an acetone containing 0.1-30 mass% of an alcohol having 1-4 carbon atoms with respect to the total organic solvent and 0.5-5 mass% of water with respect to the cellulose ester.
