To provide a method of manufacturing ceramic powder having a surface uniformly and firmly coated with an additive component, the ceramic powder and a laminated ceramic electronic component manufactured using the ceramic powder and having required characteristics.
The surface of the ceramic powder is coated with gel of a metal element-containing material by preparing a liquid mixture formed by mixing a sol of an organic acid complex of a metal element and/or the metal element containing material with a suspension of the ceramic powder and hydrothermally reacting the liquid mixture under a condition of a temperature of >100°C and a pressure of >0.1 MPa. The ceramic powder consists essentially of barium titanate or barium calcium titanate. In the hydrothermal reaction, the temperature is controlled to <300°C and the pressure is controlled to <8.6 MPa.
