Abstract:
To provide a catalyst and a method for manufacturing a reduced-color isocyanurate group-containing polyisocyanate for the preparation of a high-value one-component or two-component polyurethane coating material excellent in photostability and resistance to weather.
In a color-reduced isocyanurate group-containing polyisocyanate manufacturing process where an aliphatic diisocyanate, an alicyclic diisocyanate, and/or an aliphatic (alicyclic) diisocyanate are partially trimerized and then excess diisocyanates are separated for color reduction, the process proceeds in the presence of at least one of trimerization catalysts described by general formula (I) occupying 0.04-2 mass percent of the mass of the diisocyanates to be used.
