Abstract:

To provide a method of manufacturing a composite substrate to be used for a field emission display electrode, a collector or the like and composed of an insulation material, a metal and carbon nanotube.

The composite substrate in which the average diameter of the carbon fiber is ≤20 nm is manufactured by supporting a metal catalyst on the surface of a substrate composed of the insulation material and a metallic wiring material and heating at 500-1,200°C in an organic solvent to grow carbon fiber on the substrate.
