Title:
METHOD OF MANUFACTURING CYCLIC OLEFIN ADDITION POLYMER OF HIGH GAS PERMEABILITY
Document Type and Number:
Japanese Patent JP2012031305
Kind Code:
A
Abstract:

To provide a superior manufacturing method of obtaining a cyclic olefin addition polymer of high gas permeability easy in industrial production, having superior gas permeability, high in thermal stability and a mechanical strength, and superior in solubility.

This method of manufacturing the cyclic olefin addition polymer of high gas permeability is constituted to obtain the cyclic olefin addition polymer of high gas permeability, of which a ratio of a structural unit derived from a cyclic olefin-functional siloxane is 10-100 mol% of in the addition polymer, and of which the number averaged molecular weight (Mn) is 100,000-2,000,000, by addition-polymerizing a specific cyclic olefin-functional siloxane, or the siloxane and a cyclic olefin compound, in the presence of a multi-component catalyst containing compounds (A), (B), (C), wherein the compound (A) represents a zero-valent palladium compound, the compound (B) represents an ionic boron compound, and the compound (C) represents a phosphine compound having a substituent selected from the group comprising a 3-6C alkyl group, a cycloalkyl group and an aryl group. The cyclic olefin addition polymer excellent in the gas permeability, high in the thermal stability and a film strength, and excellent in solubility to an organic solvent is easily manufactured.
