To provide a method of manufacturing a cylinder for a two-cycle engine, ensuring accurate guide of new gas into a cylinder completed into a predetermined structure.
The method comprises a step of pretreatment for applying mechanical machining to a surface 5 of a cylinder fore 6 into which a coating portion 7 is provided, a step of machining an inlet window 9, a step of allowing the coating portion 7 to cover at least part of a bent window edge 10' to create a portion 11, which has the narrowest space to a passage axis 12 of a carrying passage 8, in a region of the bent window edge 10', and a step of machining the coating portion 7 into a finishing dimension to form a piston travel surface 3 so that a coating portion edge 14 is formed in the region of the coated and bent window edge 10 and a wall space H of the coating portion edge 14 to the portion 11, which has the narrowest space to the passage axis 12, is a maximum value of 0.7mm.
