Abstract:
PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing di(2-ethylhexyl) terephthalate.SOLUTION: In the method of the present invention for manufacturing di(2-ethylhexyl) terephthalate, an esterifying reaction of terephthalic acid and 2-ethylhexanol is induced in a state where a chelate catalyst exists. It becomes possible, by using the method of the present invention, to improve the reaction rate, to improve the esterification product filtering efficiency, and to manufacture a low-hue (APHA) di(2-ethylhexyl) terephthalate.
