Abstract:

To provide a method of manufacturing a die for a hot press having high creep resistance.

This method comprises the steps of: preparing a center member 13 whose outer periphery of the cross section by a plane perpendicular to the center axis is circular; forming an original form of the die with carbon fibers 19 by winding the carbon fibers 19 in a dry state on the outer periphery of the center member 13; heating the dry state carbon fibers 19 wound on the center member 13 to shrink the carbon fibers 19 so as to increase tightening force of the carbon fibers 19 against the outer periphery of the center member 13; heating the carbon fibers 19 in a state of thereby increased tension; thereafter taking out the carbon fibers 19 forming the die from the center member 13.
