To provide a method for manufacturing a display device, by which hollow structure can be made accurately, and to provide the display device.
After the whole side plane 32B of a reflection element 32 is covered with an intermediate film 51, a display panel 10 is stuck by an adhesive layer 41, and the intermediate film 51 is removed by evaporation or burning to form the hollow structure. Then, the hollow structure can be formed accurately since the adhesive layer 41 has no possibility of sticking to the side plane 32B of the reflection element 32. In the adhesive layer 41, an upper plane 41B1 of a non-sticking region 41B has a curved surface shape of convex toward the reflection plate 30. It is preferable that wettability of the intermediate film 51 is improved by providing a protective layer 33 such as silicon nitride at the surface of the reflection element 32, and a whole side plane 32B of the reflection element 32 is reliably covered with the intermediate film 51.
