In the manufacturing process of the wearing articles 1, a pair of straight slits 121 extending a crossing direction CD and a cut line 133 crossing with each of the pair of slits 121 are formed at a composite web 103 traveling in a machine direction MD, and a gap 137 is formed by removing a part 136 surrounded by the slits 121 and the cut line 133 from the web 103. Regarding the web 103, a sheet piece 123 for fasteners is fitted to the web 103 so as to extend across the gap 137 by engaging the second fastener means 124 of the sheet piece 123 for fasteners with each of the pair of first fastener means 116 which are previously fitted to the web 136 so as to face each other across the gap 137 in the machine direction MD in a process before forming of the gap 137.
