To provide a method for manufacturing a divided type forged member which can accurately position a second member relative to a first member and also readily form a divided type connecting rod.
The method for manufacturing a divided type forged member includes: a first forging step of forming a positioning recess 39 in one of a body material 51 and a cap material 52; a second forging step of forging two members of a connecting rod body 21 and a cap 25 into a state where the connecting rod body 21 and the cap 25a are temporarily fixed at a temporary fixation part 53, and also forming a positioning projection 34 so as to correspond to the positioning recess; a machining step of machining the two members 21, 25 to form a locking part 29 therein; a fastening step of fastening the two members to each other with a bolt 27; a removing step of removing the temporary fixation part while fastening the two members; and a separating step of releasing the two members fastened by the bolt.
