To provide a method for manufacturing a drill head capable of effectively utilizing a characteristic feature possessed by a CVD method by also applying CVD coating to manufacturing of the drill head in which PVD coating can be only applied conventionally, thereby, lengthening life of a tool and capable of further manufacturing the drill head suitable for high speed cutting.
A cutting chip 3 CVD-coated by a hard material is brazed to a required part at a distal end side of a head body 1, and an outer diameter part OD of the brazed chip 3 making a rotation axis G of the head body 1 as a center is subjected to grinding processing, and thereafter, the cutting chip 3 and the head body 1 are subjected to PVD coating by a hard material at a lower temperature than the brazing temperature.
