To manufacture an electrochemical element comprising a separator made of a porous film with a solid electrolyte filling in the pores and a pair of electrodes disposed by way of porous film productively and easily.
First, a porous film with pores for the separator for the electrochemical element is prepared. The porous film holds an electrolytic salt, a solvent for the electrolytic salt, and a reversible gelatinizer to form a reversal sol-gel electrolytic composition. Then, a device of the electrochemical element, which has a pair of electrodes disposed opposite to each other by way of the porous film, is formed and the device is soaked in an electrolyte made of the electrolytic salt and the solvent for the electrolytic salt. Then the reversible gelatinizer is dissolved in the electrolyte to be the sol of the reversible sol-gel electrolytic composition. After that, the sol is gelatinized and the pores of the porous film are filled with a solid electrolyte made of the gel of the reversible sol-gel electrolytic composition.
