Abstract:

To provide a method for manufacturing an electron tube composed of opposing substrates and a side face part and equipped with an airtight container, wherein the side face part is formed without using a metal mold, the airtightness is high, the generation of gas in sealing is a little, and the positioning in assembling is easy.

A first glass substrate 11 is coated with a crystalline glass paste 23P by a dispenser robot and is calcined to form a crystallized glass side face part 23. The side face part 23 is coated with a glass paste 24P for sealing and is calcined to form a adhesive layer 24. The first substrate 11 and a second glass substrate are put in a vacuum chamber and evacuated. After evacuation, the second substrate is put on the adhesive layer 24 and heated, wherein the adhesive layer 24 is softened/melted and the second substrate is welded on the side face part 23 to be fused and sealed.
