To provide a method of manufacturing an electrophotographic photoreceptor, which has high productivity and can prepare an uneven shape of high uniformity on a photoreceptor surface, as a manufacturing method of roughening the surface of the electrophotographic photoreceptor having a surface layer by polymerization of a polymerizable material.
The method of manufacturing the electrophotographic photoreceptor having the surface layer by the polymerization of the polymerizable material on a cylindrical support comprises (1) a surface layer coating step of coating the cylindrical support with coating liquid for the surface layer containing the polymerizable material, (2) a shape forming step of forming the uneven shape on a coating film surface of the applied coating liquid for the surface layer, and (3) a polymerizing step of polymerizing the polymerizable material after the shape forming step.
