Abstract:
To provide a process for producing a reinforced composite material in which voids between fibers and variations in product strength are suppressed and the production of thin wall FRP molded products is also facilitated.SOLUTION: The process for producing fiber reinforced composite material includes subjecting a chopped strand prepreg 1B in which reinforcing fibers are impregnated with a thermoplastic resin, to two-dimension randomization of fiber orientation to make it into a prepreg laminate 1C having a predetermined thickness, and heating the prepreg laminate 1C until the complex viscosity becomes 20 to 1800 [Pa-s], as well as compressing at 1 to 8 [MPa] to form a sheet-like product of a predetermined thickness, followed by cooling.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
