Abstract:
To provide a method for obtaining fuel gas reduced in a hydrogen concentration by a simple and economically advantageous method without requiring reaction in an extremely high-pressure condition, and installation of an expensive decarbonation facility when fuel gas having methane as the main component is manufactured by subjecting hydrogen and carbon oxide to methanizing reaction in the presence of a methanizing catalyst.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing fuel gas includes steps of: a methanizing step of reacting hydrogen with carbon oxide in the presence of a methanizing catalyst so as to obtain fuel gas 2 containing 2% or more and 10% or less of hydrogen on the basis of volume after dehydration; and a selective oxidation step of adding oxygen 3 to the fuel gas 2 obtained in the methanizing step, and reacting the hydrogen with the oxygen 3 in the fuel gas 2 in the presence of a selective oxidation catalyst capable of selectively oxidizing the hydrogen.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 1
