To provide a method for efficiently and inexpensively manufacturing a functional product such as a cement additive (AE water reducing agent, concrete mixer cleaning agent or the like), a ceramics additive (plasticizer, moisturing shape-maintaining agent or the like), a binder, an asphalt emulsion, a chelating agent, a nanoparticle controlling agent, a plating assistant, a mold frame mold-releasing agent and an anti-freezing agent using an inexpensive whole biomass drying substance.

The manufacturing method for the functional product using the biomass is characterized in that a modifying agent is applied under a condition of a high substrate concentration in which the biomass particle receives a shearing stress under a condition that swelling and viscosity-increase of the biomass is substantially suppressed using the whole drying substance of the biomass.
