To provide a method for manufacturing a gas injection plug by which the judgement of an end-point using a refractory for judging the end-point can be performed and the possibility of molten steel leakage through a joint part at the boundary between the refractory for judging the end-point and a plug base body, can be reduced, and to provided the gas injection plug manufactured by the above method.
The gas injection plug 11 is provided with the plug base body 2 constituted of a gas-permeable refractory and an end-point judging body 3 constituted of a refractory different in the gas-permeability or/and heat-conductivity from the plug base body 2 and is integrated without leaving the joint part at the boundary between the plug base body 2 and the end-point judging body 3.
