To manufacture a gel electrolytic battery capable of achieving a specified battery capacity by forming a gel layer not containing non-aqueous electrolytic solution not allowing to contribute to the reaction of the battery by a thermal change.
In this method of manufacturing a gel electrolytic battery 1, the gel electrolyte battery comprises a battery element 5 having a positive electrode 2 with a positive electrode active material layer 12 on a positive electrode collector 11 and a negative electrode 3 with a negative electrode active material layer 14 on a negative pole collector 13, and the positive electrode 2 and the negative electrode 3 are stacked each other through a gel layer 4. Polymer and a dilution solvent are mixed with each other while heating to mixedly prepare polymer solution 31, the polymer solution 31 is mixed with non-aqueous electrolyte 32 to mixedly prepare coating liquid 33 for gel layer, and the gel layer 4 is formed by using the coating liquid 33 for gel layer immediately after the mixedly preparation.
