Abstract:
To avoid the lack of understanding on the aspect of thread breakage when recognizing the aspect of thread breakage to be only one kind to process an image, to sufficiently process the thread breakage.SOLUTION: A method for manufacturing glass fibers comprises: an imaging step 20 of imaging a lower portion of a bushing 4 to obtain an inspection original image on a plurality of glass filaments G2; a thread breakage detection step 21 of detecting thread breakage of the glass filaments G2 on the basis of the inspection original image and a usual image obtained on the plurality of glass filaments G2 when the thread breakage does not occur in the glass filaments G2; and a determination step 22 of determining a first thread breakage occurring by a factor in an upstream side region rather than the downstream ends of a plurality of holes of the bushing 4 in the circulation passage of molten glass G1 and a second thread breakage occurring by factors except the factor in the upstream side region when the thread breakage is detected.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 3
