Abstract:

To provide a method for manufacturing a glass substrate capable of inhibiting the corrosion of a screw feeder and of stably dissolving a glass over an extended period.

The provided method includes a preparation step and a raw ingredient adjustment step, whereas glass raw ingredients adjusted at the raw ingredient adjustment step are dissolved at a dissolving step. At the preparation step, not only is a metal sample consisting of a metal constituting a screw feeder 10 prepared but multiple raw ingredient samples including, at mutually different contents, a hydrous ingredient, an anhydrous ingredient, an acidic gas-containing ingredient, and an acidic gas-free ingredient as raw ingredients serving as supply sources of the composition of the glass substrate are also prepared. At the preparation step, furthermore, the raw ingredient samples and metal sample are adjacently heated so as to obtain correlations of the respective quantities of the water and acidic gas generated from the raw ingredient samples and the corrosion magnitude of the metal sample. At the raw ingredient adjustment step, the respective contents of the hydrous ingredient, anhydrous ingredient, acidic gas-containing ingredient, and acidic gas-free ingredient included among the glass raw ingredients are adjusted based on the correlations so as to mitigate the corrosion magnitude.
