To provide a manufacturing method of a golf ball excellent in rebounding property without damaging manufacturing operability.
The manufacturing method of the golf ball is for manufacturing a rubber composition for the golf ball containing rubber, α, β-unsaturated carboxylic acid metal salt, metal oxide and organic peroxide, and comprises: a process (a) of forming a preliminary kneaded matter by kneading the rubber and the α, β-unsaturated carboxylic acid metal salt by the 55/45 to 20/80 weight ratio of the rubber/α, β-unsaturated carboxylic acid metal salt; and a process (b) of feeding the rubber, the metal oxide and the organic peroxide to the preliminary kneaded matter and kneading it to prepare the rubber composition for the golf ball. The temperature of the rubber composition after kneading in the process (b) is 100 to 130 °C.
